Even with school starting, there is still some great summer fun to be had this weekend. Fun for all can be found this weekend with things like the colorful Lubeznik Arts Festival or enjoyable Hobart Lakefront Festival, relaxing Indoor Family Movie Night, funny double feature of The Actor’s Nightmare/Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You, and more. August 17: Methodist Hospitals Offering Farmer’s Market - Gary, IN
The Farmer’s Market will be held in the parking lot directly across from the Administration Building and next to McDonalds. Look for the big white tent and the Farmer’s Market signs. There will be lots of fresh, delicious fruits and vegetables at wholesale prices.

Based on the classic 1967 movie, Wait Until Dark tells the story of Susy Hendrix (played by Kalika Rose), a blind Greenwich Village housewife, who becomes the target of three con-men searching for a doll stuffed with heroin. Her husband Sam (played by Mac Westcott) unwittingly transported the doll home from Canada as a favor to a woman who has since been murdered.

August 18: Luther Cemetery Walking Tour - Valparaiso, IN
Luther Cemetery is the final resting place for some of the earliest settlers of Porter County and Washington Township. Walk these peaceful grounds with the PoCo Muse and learn stories about people who made the county possible.

August 18: Indoor Family Movie Night - Portage, IN
Enjoy a family-friendly FREE & open to the public event! Bring you blankets, folding chairs and kiddos in pj's for a fun and relaxing evening in our mosquito-free, air-conditioned gymnasium. Enter East Doors on Front Lawn.

August 18 - 19: Lubeznik Arts Festival - Michigan City, IN
August 18 and 19 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM guests can come to Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) for Northwest Indiana's premiere art festival: Lubeznik Arts Festival (LAF). There will be over 100 national artist and community booths for the public to enjoy as well as a delicious array of food for all tastes and an art scavenger hunt for families.

August 18 - 19: Free Kids Admission Weekend! - Valparaiso, IN
As children start heading back to school, take some time with the family at Gabis Arboretum. Children 17 and under enjoy free admission all weekend, August 18 and August 19. On Saturday, bring your fishing poles to the North Pond for morning of catch and release fishing. During your visit, stop by the new TreeSong Music Garden!
