In a year of national transition, our organization has also endured changes. The Economic Development Corporation Michigan City (EDCMC) said goodbye to two staff members and welcomed two newcomers. Early in the year, Char Bolka announced her retirement, and soon after, Kim Ramsey transitioned into a new role outside of the organization. I appreciate the time they both gave to the organization. By mid-year, the EDCMC hired Michele Hyland as our new Office Administrator and Katie Eaton as our full-time Economic Development Manager. I am pleased to have them on the team and look forward to our growth together.

On Thursday afternoon 1st Source Bank of Michigan City generously donated $5,000 dollars to the Lubeznik Center for the Arts to fund their Literacy Through the Art program. Rather than just presenting them with a giant check, employees from the 1st Source came to Edgewood Elementary School to see exactly who their donation was helping.
