Winn Machine Expands into La Porte

gledclogoA longtime Michigan City company has committed to expansion into La Porte. After a widespread search, Winn Machine., which is currently located in Michigan City, will move to a new site in La Porte and anticipates bringing with it new jobs.

On Friday, Winn Machine celebrated the move of their operations to 720 Boyd Boulevard in La Porte with an open house. Family, friends and many local business leaders and officials attended the event. Winn Machine recently purchased a 16,000 square foot building in an effort to accomodate their growing needs.

Dina Gasaway, who co-owns Winn Machine with her husband Damon, said, “The Company has always been satisfied with the competitive advantage La Porte County provides and is happy to have found a building in an area we are glad to call home.”

Currently, Winn Machine employs 20 people and has plans to add 5 jobs within the next 18 to 24 months. The company began operating in Michigan City in 1979. They primarily focus on CNC machining, milling, grinding, light fabricating and assemby for a variety of industries.

The Greater La Porte area has always had a strong manufacturing history and possesses a strong technical background. Coupled with competitive wage rate and a large workforce it makes it a great place to do business. Winn Machine Co-Owner, Damon Gasaway, could not agree more with this statement. He said, “The decision to stay in La Porte County was not a hard one. Not only is it close to home, but we have always been pleased with the quality and availability of the workforce. We look forward to continued growth and opportunity in the area.”
