The Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce Gives a Nod to Its Members

The lovely Indiana weather was easily forgotten at the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce headquarters on Tuesday evening. It was the annual Member Appreciation party, and businesses who hold a membership with the Chamber, community leaders, and the like came out to enjoy the evening.

Michael Seitz, President of the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce welcomed everyone with his usual good-natured and friendly personality. That alone helped to ease the chills from anyone who came in from the cold.

“We just wanted to have an open house and member appreciation day for our members. They can stop by, network with each other, and have a little holiday cheer,” Seitz said. “It's a good way for members to meet other members, talk, exchange some ideas and make business contacts, and reunite old friends and make new ones.”

Everyone who attended had access to scrumptious edibles provided by local businesses like Cookery TT, Spire Farm to Fork Cuisine, etc. and they could wash it down with a variety of different drinks that the lovely ladies at the La Porte Chamber graciously poured for the guests.

Sonshine Troche, Executive Director of WORTHY Recovery, Inc., was there living up to her name.

“This is where all my people are! It's really neat to be part of the Chamber and to go to the different events and connect with people,” Troche said. “We have a lot of awesome people here to make the community better and there are a lot of people at the Chamber doing their part to make the community better, so everyone is here to just make things better.”

The remainder of the evening was spent in good conversations and good humor that you could only find amongst friends. To find out more about the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce, visit their website. And look them up on Facebook!
