Gene Diamond to Serve as Interim President of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City

Gene-DiamondFranciscan Alliance has announced that Gene Diamond will serve as interim president of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City effective July 1, until a successor to outgoing president James Callaghan, MD, is selected.

For the last 17 years, Diamond has served as the Northern Indiana Region CEO for Franciscan Alliance facilities in Hammond, Munster, Dyer, Crown Point, Chesterton and Michigan City.

Dr. Callaghan recently was named president and CEO of Franciscan St. Francis Health’s campuses in Indianapolis, Mooresville and Carmel.

Also effective in July, Diamond is assuming a new role as Mishawaka-based Franciscan Alliance’s senior vice president and chief operating officer of Inpatient Services. Presidents of Franciscan Alliance’s 13 hospitals will report to him on inpatient activities and he will be responsible for developing a service line management structure for the hospitals.
