Office hours: The school office is open when school is in-session from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Mrs. Ford and I are available to answer questions and assist guardians, parents, and students.
Breakfast/Lunch: Just a reminder that all Handley students are offered a free breakfast each day school is in-session. We ask that students arrive at 8:15 for breakfast. There is a new procedure and we need the walkers to begin breakfast at 8:15.
Attendance: Attendance is directly related to the amount of success a child has in school. We strongly encourage students to attend school as we are unable to recreate the learning that takes place in the classroom. In addition, we request that whenever possible doctor’s appointments be scheduled before or after school hours. If your child will not be attending school, please call the office at 362-2561. Handley School has an attendance incentive program this year. Every child with perfect attendance (no tardees) for the week will have his/her name entered in a drawing at the end of each grading period.

Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures: For the safety of all students, teachers, and visitors, PLEASE be sure to follow the procedures as indicated on the handout in the First Day bags. We ask that all parents and students use the yellow “safety zone” if walking. THANK YOU for keeping Handley a safe place to be.
Family Night on the Playground
Mark your calendars!! Join us for an evening of fun and friendship! The PTO will host its annual Family Night on the Playground on Thursday, September 12, at 5:30-7:00 p.m. Bring the whole family to enjoy the fun. Bring chairs or a blanket to sit on. This is a great opportunity to see old friends or make new ones. Pizza, ice cream, and drinks will be available to purchase for supper.
IMPORTANT – IMPORTANT!! ISTEP+ SCORES
The state will release ISTEP+ scores electronically on Monday, September 9. If your child is in 4th or 5th grade, he/she will bring home a parent letter today that includes information on how to access your child’s scores. Please review this information carefully and share with your child. If you have any questions, you may contact your child’s teacher or the Handley office.
PARENT ACCESS: Parents who have a student in grade K-5 can have access to their child’s grades and attendance through Parent Access. Please contact the school to receive an activation code.
