LaPorte Winter Guard 3rd at Championships, Tarnow is Scholarship Winner

laporte-high-school-logoThe LaPorte High School Winter Color Guard placed third in the Scholastic A class finals of the Midwest Color Guard Circuit Championships (MWCGC) held this past weekend at LaPorte High School. LaPorte Senior Captain Abi Tarnow was also awarded the Steve Brubaker Memorial Scholarship.

The guard will travel to Dayton, OH, to compete in the Winter Guard International World Championships on April 3 and 4. They will perform at 4:06 PM EDT Thursday at the Cintas Center at Xavier University in Cincinnati. There are 122 guards from across the country in the Scholastic A class prelims. 48 guards will advance to the Semi-Finals to be held throughout the day on Friday at the Dayton Convention Center with the top 15 scoring guards advancing in the Finals to be held Friday evening at the University of Dayton Arena. LaPorte has been a World Championship Finalist four times.
