La Lumiere School Welcomes Students and New Faculty Members to Campus

Enrollment for the 2014-15 school year is a robust 233 students. Registration day is always a day of excitement as the students return from summer holiday to share stories, renew friendships, and prepare for the new academic year. The student body is comprised of a diverse group of day and boarding students. Day students come from as far away as South Bend, Granger, Schererville, Valparaiso, and Niles, MI, while boarding students choose La Lumiere from nine countries and eleven states. Countries represented among the current student body include Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Japan, Panama, South Korea, and Ukraine, while domestic boarders hail from Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin.

In addition to new students, La Lumiere is pleased to welcome the following individuals to its faculty and staff:

Ms. Sarah Jones joins La Lu as an Assistant Director of College Counseling. Sarah, originally from Sheridan, Indiana, attended Middlebury College earning a B.A. in Russian. She earned her M.A. in Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University. While earning her M.A., Sarah spent a year in Moscow, Russia as a US Fulbright Fellow. Sarah’s past positions include: Global Talent Network Manager at Global Orientations, Executive Director of the Russian Orphan Opportunity Fund, and Communications Manager for The National Foundation for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

Joining our Math Department is Mr. Timothy Earles. Timothy is a graduate of Northwestern University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and Minors in Music and Physics. He comes to La Lumiere from his position as a teacher with the Fabretto Children’s Foundation in San José de Cusmapa, Nicaragua.

Ms. Andi Jones has accepted the position as Director of Institutional Advancement. Andi comes to La Lumiere School after 17 years at Valparaiso University. At VU, she served in many capacities including Director of Donor Relations, Associate Director of Admissions, Interim Director of Admissions, and most recently as the Associate Director of Financial Aid. Andi earned her B.A. in Political Science and History from Valparaiso University and M. Ed. in Educational Counseling from Northern Arizona University.
