Wolves Wire November 2014

MC Wolves logoThe first quarter is over and once again all signs point to a us hav- ing a wonderful school year. Michigan City High School is one of the larger high schools in the state with almost 1800 students. While this can be overwhelming to many parents and students new to the high school, it provides our students opportunities to be involved in many programs and activities. With the support of our community and university partners, I encourage you to spend time with your students to explore the various pathways that are available. It is a fact that students that are involved and engaged in multiple activi- ties not only enjoy school more but they are also more successful. In speaking with many of our involved and engaged students, even though we have 1800 students, they have a place and enjoy the experience being in a diverse high school. Together, we can help our students become involved and engaged so that they can enjoy their high school experience.

With so many programs and activities taking place here at the High School, it is hard to fit everything into our newsletter and social media sites. On October 10th, we held our first pep session of the year and it was amazing to witness the amount of spirit, energy, and enthusiasm our students had for homecoming week. Even though the sophomores were very mighty and showed a lot of spirit during the pep session, the leaders of the PACK, our seniors, took home the coveted Spirit Stick! Congratulations to the class of 2015 and all involved in a great homecoming week! All of our students carried their spirit on to the field after the end of an exciting victory overtime against LaPorte. Our students proved they are out- standing!

As always, we are here to ensure your students graduate college and career ready. Please continue to follow us on Twitter, Insta- gram, YouTube, and like us on Facebook to remain informed of all of the great things taking place at Michigan City High School.
