Michigan City Wolves Wire, April 2016

MC Wolves logoWe are down to the last quarter of the year, which means that more than ever; we need for your students to be here on time and every day. In last month’s Wolves Wire, I spoke about our attendance rate and the need for our students to be strong and consistent with attendance as every employer expects for employees to have good attendance. Attendance plays a large factor in your students’ academic and social success at MCHS and beyond.

In January the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) released our graduation rate for the class of 2015 and I am happy to report that our rate of 85.8 percent is our highest graduation rate ever since the IDOE started recording rates for the 2006-2007 school year.

Over the last four years, we have introduced programs such as the Freshman Academy, Early and Honors College, partnered with Ivy Tech and Purdue North Central to provide our students with low or no cost college opportunities, and credit recovery programs to ensure our students graduate college or career ready. Please look at the chart below, which highlights the graduation rate increase since the 2006-2007 school year.
