Our Partners of LIFE in the education world, Valparaiso University, Purdue University Northwest, Indiana University Northwest, Calumet College of St. Joseph, each offer their own unique approach that serves as those training grounds, and below we're excited to share stories that showcase these fun and fundamental elements of a secondary education.

Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting kicked off their school year with a bang on Wednesday with their new student orientation, welcoming over 100 new students from the class of 2021 to the campus. One of the largest parts of CCSJ’s new student orientation is what they call “The Amazing Race,” a competition where teams of freshman students, led by one upperclassman each, travelled the school in search of 16 different stations, represented by places and people on campus.

Indiana University Northwest celebrated with members of the Northwest Indiana communities Friday as they dedicated their brand new $45 million Arts & Sciences building. The dedication ceremony took place inside the new building’s impressive theater and was followed by a reception, tours, and a concert by the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra.

After spending years of hard work and dedicating themselves to their undergraduate study, the students of Valparaiso University celebrated the end of the long road to graduation Sunday afternoon. The commencement ceremony took place in the Valparaiso University Athletics Recreation Center. Hundreds of graduates, friends, and family filled the stadium to celebrate what years of hard work had earned.

Late Thursday morning as lunch time drew near and students walked around campus during their first week at school, Purdue Northwest was putting on its Welcome Week celebration to bring some fun and festivities to its Hammond campus.

Students could be seen visiting booths, laughing with friends old and new, and enjoying a plethora of activities like combat archery, spinning a prize wheel, snacking on hamburgers and slushies, music, handling exotic animals, and much more. Of course, the different departments and colleges were also represented with their own booths to educate students on what they had to offer, and student organizations also had their own booths to encourage people to get involved on campus.
