Barker Middle School Veteran’s Day Activities

Barker-Middle-School-Veterans-Day-ActivitiesBarker Middle School 7th and 8th grade students celebrated Veteran's Day with many school-wide activities. Mrs. Parson's, Reading classes, and Ms. Pol's Social Studies classes entered the VFW Ladies Auxiliary "Patriot's Pen" Essay Contest. This year's theme was "America's Gift to My Generation". Students wrote essays of 300-400 words on the topic.

Ms. Sobecki's elite Chorus students sang patriotic songs at Rittenhouse during the Veteran's Luncheon on Thursday, November 9th. Participants sang along with the students and students had the chance to stay and visit with luncheon participants. Ms. Rothermel's Digital Art 7th grade students create patriotic posters with patriotic quotes and song lyrics while her 8th grade students created digital indoor murals (see attached examples). Homerooms students put together colored patriotic murals.
