First Trust Credit Union is known for their support of the local community, be that through toy drives during the holidays, or other charitable donations and acts, like their upcoming education scholarships.
The scholarships are available for all graduating high school seniors who are pursuing either a traditional Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree/Apprenticeship/Certification. Aside from being available online here on First Trust’s website, applications can be found in all high school guidance offices and at all four of First Trust’s locations.
These $1,000 scholarships will be offered at each of their four branches in La Porte, Michigan City, Valparaiso, and Wheatfield for a total of eight scholarship opportunities. Four for Four-Year Bachelor Degree programs, and four for Two-Year programs/apprenticeships/certifications. These Two-Year programs include, but are not limited to, fields of study such as Culinary degrees, Cosmetology, Welding, Electrical Apprenticeships, aand other trades such as X-Ray Technicians or Medical Assistants, etc. Currently, there is a shortage of applications for the non-four-year scholarships, so applicants should apply to get a chance at receiving this amazing opportunity!
The deadline has been moved to March 15th to allow more time for applicants to submit their applications!
