NPHS Robotics
From FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) team 2197, New Prairie High School’s Max Cotter was named a State of Indiana Dean’s List award winner and Dean’s List finalist. The FIRST Dean’s List Award recognizes FIRST Participants’ exemplary passion and effectiveness in achieving the mission of FIRST. High school sophomores and juniors – in FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Tech Challenge – are nominated by their peers, and then a panel of judges from industry, government, and education select Dean’s List Finalists and FIRST Dean’s List winners. The goal is that these students will continue their great work in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and help build a strong FIRST Alumni community. Winning this award is akin to being a National Merit Scholarship winner.

Along with advancing to compete in the FIRST World Championship event in Detroit, Michigan, Max is also part of the student advisory board for IndianaFIRST, the organizational body that runs FIRST robotics programs at all levels in the state of Indiana.

Max is the first ever Dean’s List winner from New Prairie High School.
