Baby its cold outside, and Santa is getting ready to come to downtown La Porte! Join in for the 2017 Santa Parade in downtown La Porte held on November 25 at 12:00 p.m. The parade runs through downtown, and Santa will be taken to his chalet at Plaza 618, located at 618 Lincolnway in Downtown La Porte.
After the parade, children can visit with newly-arrived Santa and enjoy the tree lighting and festive music. Refreshments will also be available courtesy of Centier Bank and the Salvation Army of La Porte.
A Christmas card will also be used for entry in the Coloring Contest to win Chamber Bucks for Breakfast with Santa at T-Berry’s Diner, scheduled for December 9th at 10:00am. All cards will be forwarded to our troops. A copy of this year’s card is available at the La Porte County Family YMCA, the La Porte County Public Lbrary, and the Chamber and is welcome to all ages. The deadline for entries is November 30th. Drop off is currently at the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce.
Santa will be in his Chalet on Santa Parade day following the end of the parade and again on every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. until December 23rd. Coinciding with visits with Santa in his chalet will be a Winter Market organized by the La Porte Farmers Market on December 2nd and the Downtown Cookie Walk on December 9th.
The Santa Parade is supported by generous sponsors including: American Licorice, Golden Living Centers, City’s Pure Ice, Qubit Networks, and many others. The La Porte Santa Parade began with a partnership between the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of La Porte.
