La Porte County Family YMCA Building a Team of Passionate Experts Willing to Do What it Takes to Make Our Community a Better Place

La-Porte-County-YMCA-New-Employee-Elizabeth-SanchezThe La Porte County Family YMCA is proud to announce and welcome two new professionals to their team, Elizabeth Sanchez as Marketing Director and Jennifer Borrowdale as Program Coordinator. Ms. Sanchez and Ms. Borrowdale have outstanding professional backgrounds and an ongoing history with helping communities.

Ms. Sanchez will have an overall responsibility for developing and implementing strategic communication plans designed to capitalize on market opportunities and generate demand. She will also be building brand awareness and reputation throughout all Y facilities in La Porte County.

Ms. Sanchez brings with her over six years of marketing experience in nonprofits. She came to us from Vanair Manufacturing, where she served as Marketing Specialists and Secretary of Warriors First Foundation. She also served three years as Project Coordinator for the Greater La Porte Economic Development Corporation, She interned with the Michigan City Area Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneur Center of Michigan City.

“I am thrilled to be a part of well-known nonprofit organization built for diverse communities all over the world. I look forward to being the creative mind of the team and sharing with La Porte County the endless opportunities available here at the Y,” stated Ms. Sanchez.

Ms. Sanchez holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University North Central. She also has experience with website development and graphic design. She has an active lifestyle outdoors biking, kayaking, camping and snowboarding.

La-Porte-County-YMCA-New-Employee-Jennifer-BorrowdaleMs. Borrowdale also leads an active lifestyle outdoors as well as loves reading and baking. Ms. Borrowdale studies Recreational Administration with Focus on Event Coordination at Illinois State University.

Ms. Borrowdale will be responsible for assisting and planning all sport programs as well other programs with the Y. Ms. Borrowdale brings with her experience in event coordinating. She previously held a position as Athletic & Event Coordinator where she was responsible for developing and managing a wide range of events, performing marketing and budgeting evaluations. She was also an Activities Supervisor at Life Time Fitness assisting the department head with managing, and planning child center programs and events.

“I am excited to start a new challenge within the YMCA and look forward to working with the team to further develop their already distinguished programs. I plan to develop, organize and implement high quality YMCA programs. I believe there is something for everyone at the Y and I am excited to help everyone live a healthier way of life,” stated Ms. Borrowdale.

The La Porte Y is pleased to have Ms. Sanchez and Ms. Borrowdale added to their team and look forward to a prosperous future. Ms. Sanchez and Ms. Borrowdale will be actively involved in all events for the community. At the Y, we measure success in smiles!
