Crown Point and Highland Natural Gas Line Inspection Project Underway

rot6Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) crews will be working to complete a natural gas transmission pipeline inspection project between the towns of Crown Point, IN and Highland, IN. Approximately nine miles of natural gas transmission pipeline that traverses between the two towns along the Erie-Lackawanna Trail System is being inspected.

The four-day project is set to begin Monday April 17, ending Thursday April 20. Leading up to the project start, there will be maintenance activities conducted along the natural gas transmission pipeline. Customers are not expected to experience any interruptions to their existing natural gas service.

During this work, residents within 1/2 mile of the work sites may hear audible noise and may smell natural gas odors in the air. If you are concerned, please call the NIPSCO Customer Care Center at 1-800-464-7726 to report an odor.

There will be intermittent closures of the Erie-Lackawanna Trail System adjacent to the work sites for five minute intervals.
