Meals on Wheels Names New Director of Development

Meals-on-Wheels-Names-New-Director-of-DevelopmentRachel Hurst has been named Director of Development for Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana (MOW).

Hurst relocated from Louisville, Kentucky to her hometown of Valparaiso to work with Meals on Wheels. She has been serving in nonprofit fundraising and leadership for 20 years and has raised more than $24 million from foundation, corporate, government, and individual donors.

Previously Hurst served as the founder and Executive Director of the Louisville Affordable Housing Trust Fund. She was the Associate Director of Development for National Safe Place Network. Her experience includes campaigns and agencies focused on homelessness, civil rights, and veterans. She has led over 400 trainings on fundraising across the US, and served as an evaluator of grant proposals for national and local funders. Hurst holds a Master’s degree in nonprofit administration from Murray State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in English and education from Ball State University.
