February 2017 Genealogy Meeting Wrap-up

lcigs-logoTuesday, February 14, the La Porte County Indiana Genealogical Society members met at the La Porte Park Department building. After a business meeting, Carol Lloyd presented an alternative tool for pursuing your family connections. Exploring Family History through Hellinger Family Systemic Work, an overview of an understanding of the theories of Bert Hellinger, respected psychotherapist, who examined the effect of past family history on present family dynamics.

Next month’s meeting, on March 14, will feature Larry Carlson. He will speak on Genealogical Research Using Divorce Records.

The society meets at 7 pm on the second Tuesday of each month, weather permitting, at the La Porte City Parks and Recreation Department building at 250 Pine Lake Avenue. The public is welcome at all meetings. Paricia Harris, trip chairman, announced that the annual bus trip to the Allen County Public Library will be on April 19 this year. Look on the website for details and a reservation blank. Reservations at $21.00 per person are due by April 1, 2017
