Every child deserves to have hope for a better future. For over 23 years, Harmony House/CASA has provided volunteer advocates (CASA) for abused and neglected children, supervised visitation for children with their non-custodial parent and recently began providing volunteer advocates (CAYA) for delinquent youth. On Friday, September 19th, Harmony House/CASA is hosting the 20th annual tasting event - “Celebrate the Harvest of Hope” A Farm to Fork Culinary Tasting Experience.
This year’s event will feature local farmers partnering with local chefs to create a farm fresh taste of La Porte County for all who attend. All of the participants will be donating their skills, food, coffee, wine, beer and spirits to raise funds for Harmony House/CASA. This year’s participant’s include: Spire, Lazy Perch, Fiesta Valenciana, Contemporary Comfort, Bobby McBeans, Spa Speak Easy and Special Events, Uptown Cakery, Ivy Tech Community College – Hospitality Department, Maple City Roasters, John’s Package Liquor, Journeyman Distillery, Shady Creek Winery, Shoreline Brewery & Pub, Anderson’s Winery, Four Father’s Brewing, Southern Wine & Spirits, National Distributors, Indiana Wholesale, Wine, & Liquor, Inc, Sunkist Organics, Rainfield Farm, Burek Farms, and John Farm Market.
This year’s event is made possible by the generous support of IU Health La Porte Hospital, Keys Counseling, NIPSCO, WIMS AM 1420, Tryon Farm Institute, Tryon Farm, and Sauer’s Automotive.
Johnny V will provide musical entertainment for the event. Funds will be raised for the scholarship fund that will provide youth with opportunities to become involved in the arts, sports, music or other activities and also provide assistance for those older youth who needs assistance for post high school education.
