The money was a portion of that raised at a recent sorority golf outing.

Cross said the organization has supported the home for approximately 20 years. “We want to make sure the girls get a good start on life and St. Monica gives them the opportunity to get an education and have a supportive place to raise their children, and to get jobs. It offers them a well-rounded concept of life.” Melton, a former client of the home, said the money will be put to get use. “We appreciate their support,” she added. Since 1994, the home has offered a medically sound and emotionally healthy residential environment for women aged 12 to 21, who are awaiting the birth of a child or have recently given birth. Residents, whose average length of stay is nine months, learn positive relationships and parenting skills, under the guidance of resident advisers.
