Meals on Wheels Offers Volunteer Opportunities

Meals-On-Wheels-NWI-New-LogoMeals on Wheels offers volunteer opportunities delivering meals in your own community Monday through Friday. Why not join us for new volunteer training/orientation on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at 10:00am, or on Thursday, June 23, 1:00 pm?

Training is held in our Community Room at 8446 Virginia Street, Merrillville. We are currently recruiting drivers/delivery volunteers in the Miller and Lake Station communities. Some volunteers deliver more than one route and others are delivering two or three days per week.

Why not join your neighbors and make a difference in not only our client’s day but yours too? Each day, volunteers assist in the delivery of more than 1,500 meals throughout Lake County.

According to Joan Vith, Volunteer Manager, “our mission to deliver proper nutrition to those in need throughout Lake County can only be met when volunteers step forward. We are recruiting new volunteers to assist us in these communities.”

Interested candidates are invited to attend one of our upcoming sessions. Applicants will have an opportunity to tour the facility and ask questions about Meals on Wheels and the different volunteer opportunities we have available.

To register for training, or for more information on individual or corporate volunteering opportunities, contact Joan at (219)-756-3663, or email joan@mownwi.org.
