The knights raised the money through an annual Paczki Ball event at St. Maria Goretti Parish in February. The annual contribution helps to purchase supplies for the home’s young residents and their children.

Named after the patron saint of mothers, St. Monica offers a medically sound and emotionally healthy residential environment for pregnant young women and new mothers, aged 12 to 21. Opened in July 1994, St. Monica residents learn to foster positive relationships and parenting skills through the guidance of experienced and encouraging resident advisers. Residents are nurtured through educational programs, counseling sessions and prenatal services. They also have continuing educational opportunities and gain work experience through a junior volunteer program. For more information, call (219) 865-2141, ext. 45284.
