Our nonprofit partners are a special group of people, often selfless, and concerned only with helping others. Their many volunteers and workers find ways to bring positivity and hope to many in the Region; stories we’re proud to help tell.

Through many programs, events, and hardworking hands, these groups are working to positively change our communities in many ways. Here are some of the ways we’ve highlighting their amazing work to bring recognition to those who often never find the spotlight.

Hannah’s Hope is an agency dedicated to helping children with special needs. Inspired by Hannah Martinez, whom was determined to have had a prenatal stroke, her parents began the nonprofit in her honor and vowed to help others in her memory.

The Valparaiso Family YMCA is constantly putting on events to engage the community and encourage a happy, healthy lifestyle. During these events, like the Healthy Kids Day, there is no shortage of smiles or information on YMCA programs.

Calvary Church hosts many events throughout the year to encourage worship, community, and family. Father’s Day is no exception as they host a worship in downtown Valparaiso at Central Park Plaza to bring even more people into their family.

A new location is big news for anyone, but for Jacob’s Ladder, it meant a better facility, improved equipment, and a great way to continue better serving children of the area. As a facility offering therapies to kids, the new facility enabled them to serve more children and plan for the future.

Tour-de-LaPorte-Walk-Run-2017-1 Healthcare Foundation
Each year, the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte presents it’s Tour De La Porte to encourage a healthy lifestyle. The event raises money to support cancer patients and consists of multiple athletic racing events for athletes to compete in.

WVLP-Hog-Roast-Community-Dinner-01 WVLP 103.1
Each year, WVLP holds a hog roast to raise funds for the station and support it’s many programs. The hog roast brings in local musical artists and provides some great entertainment for the Valparaiso community!

Portage Township YMCA
The Portage Township YMCA is constantly finding ways to bring the community in and get them involved. Their Total Knockout Trivia Night was no exception, bringing in a large crowd to duke it out in a battle of knowledge!

Celebrating over 100 years is a huge milestone. For the La Porte County Family YMCA, it was celebrated with a lunch to reflect on the previous year and plan for the future, as well as to celebrate their membership reaching over 8,000 people!
