“Bits, Pieces and Oddities” – Art of the Unexpected

SSAA-Collage-04-21-15Going past some conventional boundaries for gallery exhibitions, Southern Shore Art Gallery opens its May exhibition “BITS, PIECES AND ODDITIES” with multi-media artistic expressions from the fertile mind of the creators which include SSAA members and guest artists from the region.

"The materials and subjects are the province of the Creators, whose triumph will be to shock, inspire and amuse their respective audiences. Each participating artist's DNA leaves its indelible stamp on their chosen medium, is refracted by time, and offered to the viewer as the sublime gift of art", said Kei Constantinov, MFA and Exhibition Chair of this show, Opening on First Friday, May 1st in the Uptown Arts District.

SSAA Gallery, located at 724 Franklin, will hold a free wine, refreshment and appetizer reception with an opportunity to meet the artists from 5-8pm. Smooth jazz music will be provided by Local Grammy Contender, Keenan Baxter from Valparaiso.

The exhibition will run through Sunday, May 31. Gallery hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 12noon to 5pm (CST).

SSAA is a non-profit art organization for established and emerging artists to exhibit and sell their work along with offering the community art classes and programming that contribute to the cultural scene in the region. Exhibitions change monthly with June’s exhibition in support of the nationwide America In Bloom environmental project.
