Blue Chip Casino Provides Businesses with Holiday Party Alternative

The holiday season is officially in full swing in La Porte County as Blue Chip Casino held its annual Mix, Mingle and Jingle on Saturday night. The Blue Chip draws businesses from across the county that want to get together with their staffs prior to the holidays, but do not wish to go to the trouble of planning an office party.

“We have small doctors and dentists offices; we have a lot of industrial manufacturing companies; it’s a wide variety,” Director of Sales at Blue Chip Casino Angie Gaghan said.

Approximately 30 different companies from Michigan City and La Porte were represented. According to Gaghan, 456 people attended, surpassing the 2011 total by two people. Businesses took advantage of the opportunity to not only celebrate the holidays with their staffs, but to mingle with the other businesses in attendance. It was a golden networking chance in an upbeat party setting that included dancing and live entertainment.

Libido Funk Circus provided the musical entertainment for the gathering.

“We’ve had a lot of folks coming back this year that wanted to have them back,” Gaghan said. “We’ve got a variety of folks so they do a little bit of everything. They start from the early ‘70s and ‘80s and get to a little bit more of the modern stuff.”

The admission cost covered a full buffet in addition to the entertainment. Prime rib, chicken, roast beef, fish and gourmet desserts were among the items featured on the menu. The alcohol package wrist band was an additional cost.

“There are some scrumptious things on the menu,” Gaghan said.

The Blue Chip Casino has wasted no time in starting the planning process for next winter’s Mix, Mingle and Jingle. Tickets are already on sale for the fifth annual event, which will be held on Dec. 6, 2013.

“Hopefully they continue to get bigger and better every year,” Gaghan said.
