Eat, Drink, and be Mapley at Downtown La Porte’s Maple City Pub Crawl

Maple-City-Pub-Crawl-2Next Saturday, May 9th, from 5-8 pm, Downtown La Porte invites all residents of Northwest Indiana that are over 21 to explore the many dining and drinking options the downtown has to offer during the annual Maple City Pub Crawl.

Unlike a lot of pub crawls, where guests have to pay admission and then are escorted on a schedule from one bar to the next like a museum tour, the Maple City Pub Crawl is unique in that it’s free and there’s no set schedule on where you have to be or when you have to be there.

“A former crawler described the pub crawl best as a community happy hour,” Downtown La Porte Director, Thaddeus Cutler, said.

The crawl works like this:

From 5-8 pm, participating locations (see full list at the bottom of the article) , all within walking distance of each other, will offer amazing food and drink specials tailored just for the pub crawl. As a participant, you can partake in as many of these different tastes of La Porte as you want. And the early evening start time makes it a great evening event all in itself, or a perfect addition to a night on the town in La Porte.

And for those returning to the Maple City Pub Crawl this year, you’ll be excited to know that Downtown La Porte will once again feature the “Best Selfie” contest with Potawatomie. Send your best, most creative snapshot with the statue to cutler@lpchamber.com for a chance to win 4 tickets to the South Bend Cubs’ “La Porte Day” at Four Winds Field!

Laporte-4Winner of the selfie contest will be notified by Tuesday, May 12th.

Like any good time, there are some official rules to help make sure the party stays a fun one for all throughout the night:

1.) Must be 21+ 2.) All beverages must be consumed within establishments. 3.) Remember we’re all in this for a fun, good time, so be respectful of fellow crawlers and citizens at all times. 4.) Crawl like a pro: responsibly.

Laporte-31But most importantly, remember to have a good time. The Maple City Pub Crawl is a fun, unique chance to have a good time, while also getting to explore one of Northwest Indiana’s most interesting towns.
