Whiting Announces a Summer-Long Celebration Extending July through August 2015

rot6The City of Whiting invites residents and visitors to experience our 2015 summer-long celebration, full of spectacular events extending July through August. Just miles from home and along the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan, there is a small city celebrating a big summer with seven one-of-a-kind events that you won’t want to miss. The City of Whiting has teamed up with some of the nation’s most famous entertainment companies, along with nationally recognized characters to create a memorable summer for all Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland families to enjoy.

The City of Whiting invites you to join the fun, kicking off with a star spangled celebration at Whiting Lakefront Park on July 3. Enjoy an incredible firework display that will light up the night sky over Lake Michigan, as well as a party along the shore that will feature live music by the Nick Danger Band, a beer garden, food and more. Then, ‘Toon’ in as the excitement continues with nationally recognized characters at our 96th Annual 4th of July Parade in Historic Downtown Whiting, followed by famous Hollywood cars at two ramped up cruise nights and a summer-long symphony series that is sure to have you and your tiny dancers swaying on a Saturday. And to wrap up summer before the back to school blues, head to Whiting Lakefront Park for a Mascot Extravaganza on August 1 as mascots from all over the country travel to Whiting for this furry-fun event in the park.
