The gym at the LA Porte YMCA was packed with superheroes, princesses, minions and more at the LA Porte County Family YMCA Halloween Family Fun night.
“This is a free event to give back to the community ,” Cindy Berchem, Executive Director of the YMCA told IIMM. “We have all kinds of fun fair games like ring toss, duck pond, bingo and many more”

Circling around the LA Porte YMCA gym were kids and their families playing all kinds of fun games. The lines might have been long but the wait was short. The YMCA employees and volunteers of the evening kept the lines moving quickly, Smiling faces from babies, toddlers and teens filled the gym; no one seemed to mind the lines.
“This is awesome, totally awesome. My son loves it and doesn’t want to leave,” said Enthused Debra Tyler who had brought her son to this event for the first time this evening. Debra’s son loved the cakewalk, Debra herself loved how organized the event was and will be coming back next year.
If your child needed a break from the games they could go up one floor to the next gym and get some energy out in the giant bounce house. You could also go back to the entrance of the YMCA for a free bag of popcorn.
Lorrie Zellers a grandma who came with her grandchildren to the Family Fun Night has attended several of the Halloween Family Fun nights at the YMCA. Lorrie said they keep coming back “because the kids enjoy it, it’s a safe place to go, where you don’t have to worry about them”
After playing games and eating popcorn at the YMCA you could head on over to the Andrew Avenue Outdoor Center for a scare. For $2.00 a person or $5.00 a family you could walk the Haunted Trail.
Susan Aaron who is on the YMCA Board of Directors and a volunteer said, “The haunted trail is scary but not too scary! “She said there are a lot of children who come to the haunted trail. ”Its wonderful and good safe time.”
