Songs and stories start the New Year off in style at Lubeznik Center for the Arts. First Fridays in January welcomes you, the audience and patrons, to the stage with the inaugural LCA Open Mic Night. Performances can be vocal or instrumental songs, storytellings, poems, dramatic interpretations, comedy, or some other presentation suitable for an Open Mic.
VHS Gymnastics Team to Be Honored at VHS Varsity Basketball Game
The 2012 State Runner-up VHS Gymnastics team will be honored before the start of the Varsity Basketball game on Friday January 4. The JV basketball game starts at 6pm and the Varsity basketball game starts at 7:30pm.
Marquette Catholic Returns to Action
The Blazers will bring back the heat on Friday, January 4, when they travel to Hammond to take on the Warriors of Bishop Noll for a triple header. C team tips off at 4:30 followed by Junior Varsity at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00.

During a 10 week Saturday program January thru March 2013, NWI United FC provides a Futsal League for players just to play without the interruption of instruction. It provides a break to the players from the season that has just concluded and allows a rest from the demands of training.
Perspectives from Extraordinary Students
You are invited to a very special event. The Southern Shore Art Association is excited to exhibit the unique talents of extraordinary young adult art students with special needs. Opening Reception First Friday January 4, 2013, 5-8pm. An eight-week art program, taught by artist members of the SSAA resulted in this exhibit of landscapes, drawing, abstract art, papermaking, cartooning, textile printing, collage and more.
Holiday Break Fun for Kids
For children, aged kindergarten and up. Take a break and have some fun by attending South Haven Public Library’s Holiday Break Fun! Watch a Snow Buddies and make winter crafts like polar bears and snowmen before heading back to school. Refreshments will be served.
VHS Boys Basketball Hosting "Cabin Fever" Basketball Camp
The Viking Boys Basketball team will be hosting a Cabin Fever Basketball Camp for boys in grades 1 though 5 on Thursday, January 4th, and Friday, January 5th, from 1:00-2:30pm in Viking Gym.
