Each weekend we bring you 10 Fun Things to Do in Northwest Indiana so you are never without something to do! This weekend features festivals throughout the region, an outdoor theatre productions, BMX fundraisers, a gala, a dance and plenty more!

2014 Portage Nativity Fest Set to Kick-Off July 10th 
Coming in July is the annual Nativity Fest! From Thursday July 10 to Sunday July 13 Nativity of Our Savior Parish will host a grand festival that will have tons to do for kids of all ages. Live music, food, carnival rides, a used book sale, games, raffles, and more await all who attend this great event.

45th Annual Merrillville Greek Festival July 11-13 
The Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Church will be hosting its 45th annual Grecian Festival on the Church grounds on July 11, 12, 13th. Festivities include kiddy carnival/games and Greek music, dancing, market place, and pastries. Generous portions of roasted lamb, shish-ka-bob, Grecian chicken, Gyros and our award winning “Greek Potatoes” await your appetite in our air-conditioned Great Hall. Whether making new friends or getting reacquainted with old friends, the outside beer garden is a perfect setting for your outdoor enjoyment. Free parking, admission and entertainment are provided.

See Shakespeare Under the Stars Friday and Saturday, July 11 & 12 
Come to see Shakespeare under the stars Friday and Saturday, July 11 & 12, 2014 at the Porter Health Ampitheater in Central Park Plaza at dusk. These "free" performances of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet are open to anyone and everyone. Don't forget to bring a blanket or chair!

Worthy Recovery Inc.'s Ladies Event set for July 12 
While Stephani Electric and Goodman Plumbing are working on the WORTHY Women Recovery Home home, we are reaching out and building lives in our community. Ladies from every walk of life are invited. Trudy Menke - Reframing Leadership, Mandi Cornett - Cleanse.Fill.Pour. Women's Ministry and LaRonda Campbell - Empower Women's Group are highly regarded and sought after speakers, authors,leaders and educators in La Porte County and beyond. Sharon Kirkham hosts this amazing first of it's kind Ladies Event in La Porte County. David and Faith Foelber and team have many great songs lined up. Zachariah Kirkham will join them as special music guest.

The Michigan City Mainstreet Association Presents: Chalk Walk 
The Michigan City Mainstreet Association presents Chalk Walk in the Uptown Arts District on Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join merchants in the Uptown Arts District for this awesome day. Come walk with friends and family to chalk up the sidewalks at various locations, grab a beverage, check out sales, or just be entertained by the many volunteers chalkin' the walks during this event on July's Second Saturday.

2014 Turkeypalooza set for July 12th 
500 Turkeys will host its 4th Annual Turkeypalooza Fundraiser, raising funds to feed 800 families for Thanksgiving. Please join us at the Coffee Creek Watershed for a fun filled, family friendly evening to help feed people in need. Entertainment includes Chris & Lou, Jennie Wellsand, Messiah’s Fire, Mike Lee, Shuree, Stephanie Ruggeri, and an appearance from Ronald McDonald!

Race for Life at Imagination Glen BMX Track “Where Nobody Sits on the Bench” 
On July 12, come join the BMX community and Race for Life at Imagination Glen BMX Park, 2190 State Road 149 in Portage! The summer home of NWI riders will host its annual race to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.com). Over the past 15 years the riders and supporters of Imagination Glen have raised over $20,000! Registration for racing is 5-6:30pm with racing immediately following. Fees for racing are $20 Class or Cruiser, $5 Open or Strider. USA BMX memberships are NOT required to race this race.

Griffith Fire Department Annual Dance and Raffle 
The Griffith Fire Department is proud to announce we will be hosting our annual Firefighters Dance and Raffle Saturday July 12th from 6:00 PM to Midnight at Griffith Fire Department Station 1 (130 N. Lafayette St.). The Relics (http://www.therelicsband.com/) are back by popular demand again this year to entertain us with all the greatest tunes from the 60s and 70s. It wouldnt be a party without a fully stocked beer garden and a smokin hot grill; so firefighters will be serving up plenty of burgers, brats, dogs, and chicken, and pouring ice cold beer all night long.

Lubeznik Center for the Arts Hosts ArtBash Gala Event 
Saturday, July 12, 2014, 6:00 p.m. (CDT) Lubeznik Center for the Arts will hold its annual fundraiser at its home for the first time, located at 101 W. 2nd St. Michigan City, IN 46360. The event will feature culinary delights, inspired libations, delectable desserts, artists creating their work, LA-based DJ HMU, and spectacular interactive performances. Material Possessions, fiber artist, Karen Gubitz, will be on-site creating artwork as well as artist Laura Marie Panozzo.

Rock the House, Share the Arts, Inspire a Friend!  
The Rock the House benefit will be held from 1 p.m. to midnight on Sunday, July 13 at Memorial Opera House. The funds raised will help the historic structure at 104 Indiana Avenue, where, along with monthly bills, are the added costs for upgrades and repairs to the 120-year-old venue. Eleven hours of continual music from Seventeen Acts, along with a cash bar, beer garden, food and auction will make this one of NW Indiana's premier musical events this Summer!
