La Porte Aero Club's Community Aviation Night 
General Dan Cherry, retired F-4 Phantom pilot and author of "My Enemy, My Friend" will be at the La Porte Aero Club's Community Aviation Night Friday, June 24 to tell the incredible story of how one-time enemies have become friends. Whether you're a pilot or not, veteran or not, history buff or not, this is a wonderful human-interest story that should not be missed! Community Aviation Night takes place from 4:30 - 8:00. General Cherry's presentation will be from 6:30 to 8:00, inside a hangar, rain or shine.

Zao Island Summer Concert Series: Friday | Saturday
Did you know Zao Island in Valparaiso is not only a top destination for family fun, but we now also present: Live Music every Friday and Saturday night? Zao Island will be presenting some of the area's best original rock, blues, reggae, jazz, and jam bands on Friday and Saturday nights (full bands lineup below). Music from 7-10 p.m. No cover.

La Porte Jaycees 43rd Annual Arts and Crafts Festival 
This outdoor festival is the kick-off for the Jaycees’ Fourth of July Festivities. The event takes place in conjunction with the LaPorte Farmer's Market in downtown LaPorte on June 25, 2016, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. CST. Vendors must furnish display tables, chairs, and tents.

Nativity of Our Savior Parish Car Show 
Come support local Portage business, Harbor Buick GMC, and Nativity of Our Savior Parish at their first ever 1st Car Show! Taking place on June 25th from 8 am to 3 pm at Nativity of Our Savior Parish, this car show plans to bring fun to the whole family while helping to give back to the community. In addition to checking out some sweet rides, there will also be a 50/50 Door raffle, along with other prizes, food, and music.

Eat, Shop & Rock Sidewalk Sale & Fest in Hammond 
The Downtown Hammond Council invites you to join the 6th Annual Eat, Shop & Rock: A celebration of the 60s, 70s and the Beatles. "Come Together" in Downtown Hammond for a groovy time! Enjoy Beatles Memorabilia - Available at It's Just Serendipity, Face painting Live art Raffle - Felix Maldanado of Felix Studios will create a work-of-art live during the event. The artwork will be raffled at 4pm.

Portage Community Historical Society Festival 
Countryside Park is a beautiful, relaxing and enjoyable park for the whole family; including Fido on a leash. The festival will host entertainment activities for adults as well as tournaments and games for children with prizes. The entertainment and games are FREE to the public. Food and beverages are sold at an extremely reasonable cost; CASH ONLY. We will have root beer floats too, YUM! There will also be a 50/50 raffle and silent auctions.

St. Elijah Cathedral’s Annual SerbFest 
Family dining, tamburitzan music and great food and pastries are on the agenda for St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral’s annual SerbFest, scheduled for Friday, June 24 thru Sunday, June 26, 2016, according to Joe Dejanovic, festival chairman. The festival hours will be held from 12 noon to 12 midnight, Friday and Saturday, and 12 noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. People at work are encouraged to come and have lunch on Friday at noon, said Dejanovic. Ongoing carry outs will also be available. St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral is located at 8700 Taft (Rt. 55), one mile south of Rt. 30, Merrillville.

Celebrate Summertime with the Music Under the Stars Concert Series 
On Saturday June 25th, Mike Struwin and the Rootsdown Band are coming to Michigan City for an all-ages show set in the pristine natural beauty of Friendship Botanic Gardens (formerly International Friendship Gardens). Gates open at 5:00pm. Music starts at 7:00pm CDT. Come early to experience 105 acres of lovingly cultivated gardens and nature trails along the banks of Trail Creek. Enjoy the renowned craft beer of Burn ‘em Brewing along with fresh and locally sourced organic cuisine from the Green Machine.

Valparaiso High School All Class Reunion 
VHS Class of 1986 welcomes all VHS Alumni (21 and over) to join us June 25th in beautiful downtown Valparaiso at the new Urschel Pavilion for a VHS reunion party! Come party with us to celebrate this milestone of an anniversary. Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy the 80s tunes from Digital Hair!

Vale Park Dog Days 
Vale Park Animal Hospital is holding their Dog Days of Summer event, along with a jean drive hosted by Broken Bone Pet Products on Sunday, June 26 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Enjoy an afternoon out in the sun with your pup with venders, food and pools for your pets. The hospital is also asking for jean donations in all conditions: new, old, ripped, or repaired. For every pair of jeans, Vale Park Animal Hospital will donate a $1 to Kits for K9’s, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and supplying K9 officers with first aid kits for their K9’s in the line of duty.
