It’s the weekend before Thanksgiving and now is the time we start looking for deals on turkeys, ham and stuffing, oh my! But surely there’s more than just some extended grocery shopping and recipe research in store for you this weekend? There’s still a lot going on that you can do between a dash of this and a pinch of that.

Chesterton High School Musical: Little Shop of Horrors – Nov 17-18
 The Chesterton High School Music and Drama departments will present their annual musical, Little Shop of Horrors on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17 & 18 at 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the CHS Auditorium

11th Annual Artability Art Show and Sale Showcases Works by Artists with Disabilities – Nov 17
  Opportunity Enterprises 11th Annual Artability Art Show and Sale will take place Friday, November 17 from 6-8:30 pm at Valparaiso University Christopher Center Community Room. Over 90 canvas paintings and more than 200 ceramic pieces will be on display for auction or purchase. Additionally, guests will enjoy live music, a cash bar, and light refreshments while mingling with artists and the community.

Portage High School Thespians Drama Club Presents M*A*S*H – Nov 17
 The Portage High School Thespians Drama Club is proud to present their fall play M*A*S*H, adapted by Tim Kelly, based on the book by Richard Hooker. If you loved the film or TV series you will delight in seeing your favorites brought to life live on stage!

Lights Up Sound Down – Wonder – Nov 18
  Lights Up Sound Down is a "sensory-friendly" movie showing for children on the Autism spectrum and those with other special needs. Hosted by Jacob's Ladder Pediatric Rehabilitation at the Portage IMAX Theater on the third Saturday each month, the cost is only $5 per person and includes crafts, activities and lunch after the show!

Holidaze Craft Show – Nov 18
  It happens every year. Black Friday starts early in Valparaiso Indiana. It is a shopping frenzy with people running back and forth filling their cars up with Christmas presents. This year, Holidaze Sell-A-Bration Arts and Crafts Show will take place on Saturday, November 18th from 10am – 5pm and on Sunday, November 19th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Holidaze is located at the at the Porter County Expo Center at 215 Division Road in Valparaiso. There will be over 200 vendors in the Expo building and the adjoining building. Food will be available and admission for the public is only $2, kids twelve and under are free.

Michigan City Chamber Music Festival Presents: Jennet Ingle – Nov 18
 Internationally known oboist and recording artist, Jennet Ingle, will present a program titled “For You and Me" featuring American composers Susan Kander, Alyssa Morris, William Grant Still, Eric Ewazen, and George Gershwin. The concert will take place on Saturday afternoon, November 18, 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 121 W. 9th Street, Michigan City, IN, and admission is free! The program will be a reflection on our immigrants, and the pride we all take living in a nation filled with diversity. Pianist Siwon Kim will assist on piano.

La Pour Brew & Wine Fest is ON! – Nov 18
  Join DeCamp’s Band of Brothers Foundation for the third annual La Pour Brew & Wine Fest, featuring live music by Rich Hardesty, on Saturday, November 18, at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. VIP Admission begins at noon, with General Admission running from 1-4 p.m.

The event will feature over 25 breweries and wineries from throughout the region, state and country offering samples of over 50 beers and wines. Beer and wine sampling is included in ticket price. Food and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Feline Community Network Spay-ghetti & No Balls Annual Dinner – Nov 18
  Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser with silent auction and bake sale. We'll also have a wine tasting. Bring your friends to have a crazy fun time and friendly competition! Tickets must be purchased in advance. Watch the events page for more info.

Leonid Meteor Shower – Nov 18
 On November 18th the Calumet Astronomy will be hosting at event going from 8-10pm to watch the Leonid Meteor Shower. This evening will be the peak of the shower and we are looking forward to searching the skies for breathtaking sights.

IUN LEGO League Tournament – Nov 19
 Indiana University Northwest will host a free workshop for individuals interested in coaching a FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) Team. The workshop is set for 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 22 in the Moraine Student Center. FIRST® LEGO® League is an international competition in which teams of elementary and middle school students work as a team to program a NXT Lego robot.

PNW Theatre Company Introduces ‘The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood’ – Nov 19
