Enrollment Locations Set: Resolve to Have a Healthy 2014

Health-Communities-La-Porte-CountyJanuary 1st is right around the corner and Healthy Communities of La Porte County’s Covering Kids and Families Coalition is unveiling their New Year’s Resolution early.

Our goal is to help as many qualified people as possible enroll in the Affordable Care Act in time to be covered on January 1st,” said Program Director Donnicka Hurt.

In order to accomplish that goal people must be enrolling the Affordable Care Act Marketplace by December 23rd. Healthy Communities of La Porte County is asking our residents to make a New Year’s Resolution to be insured in 2014. Covering Kids and Families will be offering Affordable Care Act Enrollment sessions to help at the following locations:

Michigan City Library, 100 E. 4th St., M.C. 46360 – Tuesday December 10th 3-5pm
Coolspring Library, 7089 W. 400 N. M.C. 46360 – Tuesday December 17th 2-4pm

Each session will start with a 30 minute presentation and Q&A, followed by 1 ½ hour to enroll or schedule an appointment ant one of our many enrollment sites. Covering Kids and Families is also available to enroll qualifying people in Medicaid programs.

We want to make sure we fit the needs of all of our clients whether they qualify for the ACA or Medicaid, whether they can stay for the whole 2 hours, or need to schedule an appointment for another time,” Hurt added.

Covering Kids and Families Coalition is also offering a January enrollment session for those who cannot make it to the December sessions. People attending the January session will be covered on February 1st and can attend at the following location:

La Porte Library, 904 Indiana Ave. L.P. 46350 – Tuesday January 7th 3-5pm
