Sorority Donation Supports St. Clare Health Clinic Services

Sorority-Donation-Supports-St-Clare-Health-Clinic-ServicesSue Batinic, of Crown Point, (center) recently donated on behalf of the Pi Sigma Phi Epsilon Indiana-Illinois Chapter $1,200 to support the work done at St. Clare Health Clinic, which is under the auspices of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point.

Batinic said the sorority has been a longtime supporter of the clinic and will continue on that path. “We go around the communities and see who needs help the most. St. Clare is based in my hometown and helps people who don’t otherwise get much help,” Batinic said. Accepting the donation are Julie Mallers, clinic family nurse practitioner and manager; and Tony Englert, regional executive director of the Franciscan Alliance Foundation, who thanked Batinic, as did Mallers, and pointed out that, “$1,200 can go a long way in helping the clinic’s clients.” St. Clare, since 1996, has provided free primary health care and other services for area residents who fall within established income guidelines, are uninsured and are not eligible for government assistance. Donations may be brought to the clinic, 1121 S. Indiana Ave., Crown Point, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information, call (219) 663-2160, ext. 263.
