Franciscan St. Anthony Health EMS Academy Offers Paramedic Training Program

rot6The Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point Emergency Medical Services Academy will accept applications until 4 p.m. Oct. 5 for its next paramedic training course, which will take place Jan. 5 until Dec. 5.

Applications are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the academy, which is located on the second floor of the hospital’s Medical Arts Center, 1201 S. Classes, led by active paramedics, nurses and physicians, will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Graduates will qualify for National Registry written and practical exams required for paramedics to be licensed in Indiana. Graduates also may obtain an associate degree in paramedic medicine by attending two additional semesters at the University of St. Francis-Crown Point.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be certified in Indiana as emergency medical technicians, or higher.

Course fee is $5,000, with payment plans and scholarship opportunities available.
