Franciscan St. Anthony Health EMS Academy Offers EMT-Paramedic Training Program

EMS-AcademyThe Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Emergency Medical Services Academy will offer its next emergency medical technician-paramedic training program starting Sept. 11.

Applications for the 18-month course will be accepted until 4 p.m. Aug. 1 and are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the EMS Academy, which located on the second floor of the hospital’s Medical Arts Center, 1201 S. Main St., or through the academy website: http://www.stanthonymedicalcenter.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=5&tabid=74.

 

Applicants must be Indiana Emergency Medical Technicians and pass course entrance exams to be accepted into the program.

Classes will be offered from 6 to 11 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Upon completion of the program, students will be certified in Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation. They will qualify to take the National Registry written and practical exams to become certified as a paramedic in Indiana.

The Franciscan St. Anthony Health EMS Academy is a nationally accredited program of approximately 10 instructors who work as paramedics for local providers. Associate instructors include emergency room physicians, pharmacists and other experienced personnel.
