St. Clare Health Clinic Celebrates 1,500 Days in Newer Home

FA-1500-daysFranciscan Alliance Foundation board members Joe Allegretti, Kevin Keough and Jim Larsen hosted a "1,500 Days of Inspiring Health through Patient Care at the new St. Clare Health Clinic" program there March 20 that was attended by more than 50 Northwest Indiana business and civic leaders. During the evening, Keough (left), who also is a board member of the local chapter of Friendly Sons of Erin, presented Julie Mallers, clinic nurse practitioner-manager, a $1,500 check and a plaque on that organization's behalf to support and celebrate St. Clare's services. Mallers and her staff offered tours and information on the work being done at the clinic, which, since 1996, has helped uninsured clients receive primary health care and other services.

St. Clare, which is under the auspices of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point, received a new home in 2010 at 1121 S. Indiana Ave. Hospital president, David Ruskowski, is shown in the background. Donations of food, clothing and other necessities may be brought to the clinic between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

Franciscan St. Anthony Health's Prenatal Assistance Program, which is located at St. Clare, is in need of diapers, formula, baby items and new or gently used clothing, sizes newborn through 3T.
