Become a part of the continuing health and wellness tradition at the La Porte County Family YMCA. The 35th Annual Triathlon will be held on August 2nd at Soldier’s Memorial Park in La Porte, Indiana. This USAT sanctioned event features Chip Timing and includes a 1/4 mile lake swim, 12.4 mile bike ride and 3.3 mile run. Athletes will have the opportunity to compete as individuals or as part of a team. Awards will be given to each overall female, male and masters finishers as well as 1st, 2ND and 3rd place finishers for each age category.
Athlete registration opens at 6:30 A.M. at Cummings Lodge in Soldier’s Memorial Park and closes at 7:30 A.M. The La Porte County Family YMCA is also offering an orientation beginning at 7:30 A.M. in the Beach House for those individuals competing in the Triathlon for the first time. The first wave of racers will begin promptly at 8:00 A.M followed by the following waves in five minute increments thereafter. For USAT registered members, the 34th Annual Triathlon is $60.00 for individual racers and $110.00 for each team. For Non-USAT members, the Triathlon is $72 for individual racers and $110 (plus an additional $12.00 for each Non-USAT Member) for each team. Fee includes a Dry Fit t-shirt, collapsible water bottle, cinch sack and post-race food plus live music.
The course will be CLOSED to through traffic beginning at 7:45 a.m. Police and course monitors will be turning away traffic, EXCEPT for residents who live along the course. Those local residents will be permitted to enter and exit the route during slow periods of the race.
Please be extra careful when approaching intersections or pulling out of driveways. Also, if you have an active dog, please have them leashed or indoors during the time of the race.
