Franciscan Health Sleep Disorders Centers Achieve Accreditation

rot4The Sleep Disorders centers of Franciscan Health Crown Point and Franciscan Health Munster have achieved accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care Inc.

The accreditation was granted Jan. 31 and is effective until Jan. 30, 2020.

“In granting accreditation, ACHC finds that your company has demonstrated that it operates at a level of quality, integrity and effectiveness, consistent with its standards,” Timothy Safley, a commission representative, said in a letter to the Sleep Disorders centers. “It is an achievement of which your organization can be proud and one that marks your commitment to quality in the provision of care.”

Pamela Keister, centers supervisor, was pleased with the news.

“Achieving accreditation through Accreditation Commission for Health Care is a great honor. ACHC has recognized our Crown Point and Munster sleep centers for our commitment to providing quality health care. I’m very proud to be a part of a team of professionals who have dedicated themselves to continually provide a higher standard of care.”

According to its website, the ACHC collaborates with industry experts to create standards to ensure that quality is maintained throughout all aspects of the organization.

On-site surveys are conducted every three years by industry experts. A comprehensive review is conducted of organizational structure, policies and procedures, compliance with federal/state/local laws, leadership, patients’ rights and responsibilities, fiscal operations, human resource management, provision of care, patient records, quality outcomes, performance improvement, infection control, and patient/employee safety.

At the time of survey, organizations demonstrate how they have maintained continuous compliance with the ACHC Standards for Accreditation.
