PNW Women’s Basketball Travels For A Pair of GLIAC Games

PNW-Womens-Basketball-Travels-For-A-Pair-of-GLIAC-GamesThe Purdue Northwest women's basketball team takes on Northern Michigan on Thursday and (17) Michigan Tech on Saturday for a pair of Great Lake Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games.

The Pride (3-14, 2-10 GLIAC) will take on the Wildcats (9-11, 5-7 GLIAC) at the Berry Events Center in Marquette, Mich. starting at 7 p.m. CT Thursday.

PNW will then travel to the Student Development Complex Gymnasium in Houghton, Mich. to take on the No. 17 team in the country Northern Michigan Wildcats starting at 12 p.m. CT Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT PNW women's basketball is coming off a loss against Grand Valley State on Jan. 27. Michaela Kikendall (Morristown, Ind./Morristown) led the Pride with 9 points. Lanie Allen (East Noble, Ind./East Noble) scored 7 points and Tayler Vauters (Rockville, Ind./Riverton Park) pitched in a career-high 3 steals.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS Northern Michigan is coming off a 61-54 loss against Michigan Tech on Jan. 27 where the Wildcats had three players in double figures, led by Freshman Lexi Smith with 19 points. Smith is second in scoring for the Wildcats averaging 12 ppg. Junior Darby Youngstrom leads the Wildcats with 14.1 ppg.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES Michigan Tech will be coming off a game against Grand Valley State before they take on the Pride on Saturday. The Huskies are led by senior Guard Lindsay Winter, who averages 12.2 points, pulls down 7.1 rebounds along with 5 assists per game. Senior Guard's Kelli Guy and Brenna Heise are not far behind both averaging 11.8 ppg.
