Purdue Northwest Men’s Basketball Hosts Davenport Thursday

Purdue-Northwest-Men's-Basketball-Hosts-Davenport-Thursday The Purdue University Northwest men's basketball team hosts the Davenport Panthers this Thursday for a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) game.

The Panthers (10-12, 4-10 GLIAC) take on the Pride (1-21, 1-13 GLIAC) at H.D. Kesling Gymnasium at the James B. Dworkin Student Services & Activities Complex in Westville, Ind., starting at 7 p.m. CT Thursday following the women's game.

LAST TIME OUT Senior Torrance Johnson (Chicago Heights, Ill./Hope Academy) led the way for the Pride with 23 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore Franklin Nunn (Anderson, Ind./Liberty Christian) scored eight points and pulled down six boards. Freshman Richard Roberston (Fort Wayne, Ind./Northrop) added seven points and four rebounds in the setback against Michigan Tech in Houghton, Mich. last Saturday.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS Davenport is coming off a 73-65 victory against Ashland on Feb. 3. The Panthers have three players, who average double figures in scoring led by freshman Delano Smith, who averages 13.6 points per contest.

SERIES HISTORY The Panthers lead the series 1-0 after defeating the Pride 98-58 back on Nov. 30 at the Davenport University Student Center in Grand Rapids, Mich. Chandler Spring (Covington, Ind./Covington) led the Pride with 14 points, Tyree Coe (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) added 13 points and Chris Nunn (Anderson, Ind./Anderson) pitched in 12 points and Jai Wright (Richmond, Ind./Richmond) scored 10 points off the bench in the setback.
