The La Porte County Family YMCA has started registration for its youth coed soccer program. Parents may register their child during any open hours at the Y member services desk.
The program includes divisions for kindergarten/first grade, second/third grade and fourth/fifth grade. The kindergarten/first-grade division includes a half an hour of instruction preceded by a half hour scrimmage. The second/third and fourth/fifth-grade divisions include a weekly game and one weekday practice.
The season begins with a coach’s clinic on Wednesday, April 6th. Practices start the week of April 11th and games begin Saturday, April 16th, and run through Saturday, May 21st.
The cost is $42 per child for Y members and $60 per child for non-members. All players receive a Y soccer shirt and award.
The league needs coaches and referees for the upcoming season.
