All About Briar Leaf Golf Club and the 2019 season

Briar Leaf Golf Club is undergoing a full refresh for the 2019 season, including upgraded grounds for improved family fun and a re-imagined web experience with improved functionality that makes securing tee times ten times easier.

Weather permitting, Briar Leaf is making huge changes to the fairways. They’ve installed all new drainage that is already withstanding the test of spring rain showers to help improve the overall look of the course. Rather than seeding, which can require a full summer to take hold, they’re sodding all areas where the drainage has been improved.

“It’s a big project, and it’s going to make a major difference in the fairways,” Head Pro Jay Williams said. “We’re sodding so the course will be back in play in just a couple weeks’ time.”

Once the sod is in place, golfers can enjoy the new convenience of reserving tee times through an online portal on the refreshed website.

While poking around the website, golfers can view all amenities and opportunities for self-improvement Briar Leaf brings to each round.

Williams produces Living Room Lessons videos in the winter to keep golfers at the top of their game, even in the off-season. Find them at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnOA8iefPLx_o3inh4jzqDg.

“It’s all good info,” Williams said, “but it’s very tongue-in-cheek. I believe that people have more fun as they improve, and I just want people to enjoy the game more.”

Among the packed schedule of summer are golf events including the 3rd Annual Wings & Wedges Par 3 Tourney at the end of June and the Heaven & Hell event making its return because “it’s a riot and everyone has a ball,” Briar Leaf is putting the focus squarely on the family.

“We’re known for our commitment to junior golf and growing the game,” Williams said of the four separate weeks of junior camp on the calendar for this summer. “We’ve found that getting kids on the course makes the game more enjoyable for the parents, as well.”

In addition to the major junior events at Briar Leaf this summer, including the Northern Indiana and Indiana Junior Golf Tournaments, Briar Leaf has worked to get full family involvement with Family Nights every Monday. For just $20, an adult and junior can play nine holes and, at the end, they get a free hot dog!

If your family is ready to get off the driving range and onto the course, Briar Leaf makes it easy to get out and enjoy the game. Visit their new website for more information: https://briarleaf.com/.
