La Lumiere Wins DICK’S Nationals Title in 2017
La Lumiere School’s Varsity White basketball team dominated the court in New York City on Saturday, April 1, to claim the DICK’S Sporting Goods High School Nationals championship title with a 70-52 victory over Montverde Academy (Fla.). DICK’S High School Nationals invites the top eight qualifying basketball teams in the country to compete in the tournament.

Purdue Northwest Presents Kids Day Sponsored by McDonalds
Purdue University Northwest invited the community for a family-fun afternoon at its fifth annual Kids Day, sponsored by McDonald's. Before the women’s and men’s basketball games, activities and carnival games were set up for the attending children, like face painting and coloring areas, as well as a surprise visit from Ronald McDonald.


La Porte County Basketball Tourney - Can It Be Resurrected?
Hoosiers are a little happier these days. Varsity girls and boys basketball are now in full swing. Decades ago, the happy feelings peaked with excitement during the LaPorte County Sectional. Every community wanted to see its team win, or to see David topple Goliath, but it was about communities meeting in one place and watching basketball together as much as anything. As the winner advanced to the Regional, everyone hoped they’d represent LaPorte County well.
